Numerous organizations associated with the National Park run excursions designed to cater for every need: easy itineraries for everyone, tougher tours for the more experienced trekker, journeys of different length and duration, in the morning, at sunset or even at night, bathed in the spectacular moonlight. To allow visitors to get up close and personal with the landscape, culture and environment, the Park has created a network of cycle paths comprising stages to cover on mountain-bikes in the most spectacular areas of the Murgia and linking two UNESCO world heritage sites of outstanding beauty: Matera and Castel del Monte.
The Frederick II Itinerary is a unique journey into the landscape, history, natural environment and traditions of the area consisting of a 200 km trail along mule tracks and unknown pathways rich in history and culture to admire and to taste, immersed in a landscape of rare beauty.
